I decided to base my visual aesthetic on particular Japanese anime's and morph that with my own style. Anime's are renowned for their cute, delightful look which I think suits my dog and puppy care theme. I am aiming to achieve a simplistic character style, whilst retaining definition through gradients and outlines. A few of the anime characters I have looked into are:
Hamtaro is a hamster owned by a 10-year-old girl named Laura Haruna. Curious by nature, he ventures out each day to make friends and go on adventures with a clan of fellow hamster friends known as The Ham-Hams.
Mr Tadekichi (from "Azumanga Daioh")
Mr. Tadakichi is Chiyo's pet dog, a Great Pyrenees, who has been with her for five years prior to her admission to high school. Mild-mannered and gentle, he is large enough for Chiyo to ride on his back and indulgent enough to allow her to do so. Sakaki particularly likes him because he allows her to pet him without biting her, something Kamineko has done at most, if not all opportunities
Akamaru is Kiba Inuzuka's ninja dog, best friend, and constant companion. At the start of the series, Kiba carries Akamaru around on his head or inside his jacket. By Part II of the Naruto storyline, Akamaru grows large enough for Kiba to ride atop his back, but since Kiba spends so much time with Akamaru, he fails to notice this drastic difference.
